JOINT INVESTIGATION LEADS TO CHASE & STOLEN ITEMS

On December 6, 2019, the Tishomingo County Sheriff's Office along with the Belmont Police Department, went to a residence on CR 957 in Iuka, in reference to several subjects who allegedly had stolen checks from a local business in the Belmont area and had passed the checks at several business' in the Belmont community. When officers arrived at the residence on CR 957, they had received information that one of the Suspect(s), JC "Sonny" Johnson, was in route to his home. Law Enforcement spotted Johnson in his vehicle and attempted to stop him on CR 957.
Johnson began to flee from the officers for several miles and also began throwing items from his vehicle. The Mississippi Highway Patrol (MHP) was successful in placing "Stop Sticks" in the path of Johnson's vehicle, causing his vehicle to hit the "Stop Sticks", striking the vehicles tires. Johnson's vehicle came to a stop on CR 147 and attempted to flee on foot but was caught by deputies and was arrested. Two more individuals were found in Johnson's vehicle and were detained and brought to the Tishomingo County Jail for questioning.
The items thrown from the vehicle were recovered by the deputies and some of the items recovered were paraphernalia and a large amount of alleged METHAMPHETAMINE. The investigation continued after Johnson's arrest and the following day, deputies and investigators went to another residence on CR 255 and recovered a reported stolen four-wheeler. While at the residence, an individual fled the scene but was quickly apprehended and searched. A search of the individuals vehicle turned up some alleged METHAMPHETAMINE as well. That individual was then transported to the Tishomingo County Jail.
At this time, the Belmont Police Department and Tishomingo County Sheriffs Office went to another residence located on HWY 25 South in reference to the stolen four-wheeler. While there, officers were given Permission to Search the residence and found a large amount of alleged METHAMPHETAMINE at the residence. An individual at the residence was then detained and arrested for the alleged narcotic and brought to the Tishomingo County Jail.
The investigation into the theft of the four-wheeler in still ongoing, but it has been recovered. Investigators are still looking into all those involved and more charges may be coming forward at Grand Jury in this matter.
JC "SONNY" JOHNSON, 50-year-old, white male of CR 957 Iuka, Mississippi was officially charged with FELONY POSSESSION OF CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE (METHAMPHETAMINE), FELONY TAMPERING WITH EVIDENCE, and FELONY FLEEING. JOHNSON's bond was set by the Tishomingo County Justice Court at $10,000. JOHNSON is currently on probation with the Mississippi Department of Corrections (MDOC) for FELONY drug charges and is currently under INDICTMENT for POSSESSION OF FIREARM BY FELON.
TIMOTHY WHITE, 32-year-old, white male of 8 Carpenter Drive Burnsville, Mississippi was officially charged with FELONY POSSESSION OF CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE (METHAMPHETAMINE). WHITE's bond was set by the Tishomingo County Justice Court at $3,500. WHITE is also currently on probation with the Mississippi Department of Corrections (MDOC) for FELONY drug charges and has had is probation revoked.
JOHNATHAN HORNER, 32-year-old, white male of 20 CR 268 Corinth, Mississippi was officially charged with FELONY POSSESSION OF CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE (METHAMPHETAMINE). HORNER's bond was set by the Tishomingo County Justice Court at $3,500. HORNER is also currently on probation with the Mississippi Department of Corrections (MDOC).
