Safety Check-Point leads to Drug Arrests

On March 3, 2016, the Tishomingo County Sheriff's Department conducted a SAFETY CHECK-POINT around County Road 431. During the check the driver, Jessie Roach, was acting as if he was under the influence of narcotics.When deputies ask Jessie about the drugs, he stated he had smoked marijuana. The officers ask for, and was grand a Permission to Search, where they found more Marijuana and Oxycodone Pills. Jessie Thomas Roach, 49 years old, of 670 CR 956 Burnsville, Mississippi was then transported to the Tishomingo Sheriff’s Department, where he was charged with Felony Possession of Oxycodone.
The Tishomingo County Sheriff's Department also was able to check another driver and vehicle during the SAFETY CHECK-POINT. During the check the driver, James Dunn, was acting as if he was under the influence of narcotics. The officers ask for, and was grand a Permission to Search, where they found a container wrapped in black tape in the pocket of Dunn’s clothing, which also contained a small bag of Methamphetamine, Oxycodone, and Marijuana. James Curtiss Dunn, 34 years old, of 498 CR 961 Burnsville, Mississippi, was transported to the Tishomingo Sheriff’s Department, where he was charged with 2 Counts of Felony Possession of Controlled Substance for the Methamphetamine and the Oxycodone.
Bond for JESSIE THOMAS ROACH was set by Justice Court Judge Donnie Joe Sparks in the amount of $5,000.00 for the POSSESSION OF CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE
Bond for JAMES CURTISS DUNN was set by Justice Court Judge Donnie Joe Sparks in the amount of $10,000.00 for 2 counts of POSSESSION OF CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE.
Both cases will be presented to the next Grand Jury in Tishomingo County.
