MULTIPLE FELONY ARRESTS MADE
March 6, 2018
The Tishomingo Sheriff’s Office has recently made several FELONY arrests since March 1, 2018. Here is a list of those arrests:
- On March 1, 2018, the Tishomingo Sheriff’s Office along with the Belmont Police Department acted on a tip about some narcotic activity going on at 8 Monroe Street in Tishomingo. Deputies went to the residence and were given permission to search the residence by the homeowner. During the search, a large amount of alleged METHAMPHETAMINE was located through out the residence. Several bags of alleged METHAMPHETAMINE, totaling approximately 32 grams (street value - $3,000.00), along with scales and baggies were found in one room of the residence. One of the occupants then attempted to hid a bag of alleged METHAMPHETAMINE on their persons, but was caught. A vehicle was also searched and pseudoephedrine, sodium nitrate, along with more alleged METHAMPHETAMINE was found inside the vehicle. A male and a female was arrested from the residence and transported to the Tishomingo County Jail.
- DAVID NUNLEY, 65-year-old, white male of 8 Monroe Street Tishomingo, Mississippi was officially charged with FELONY POSSESSION OF 2 OR MORE PRECURSORS W/INTENT TO MANUFACTURE METHAMPHETAMINE, and FELONY POSSESSION OF CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE (METHAMPHETAMINE). NUNLEY was also charged by Belmont Police Department with RECEIVING STOLEN PROPERTY. NUNLEY’s bond was set at $10,000.00 by Justice Court.
- SANDRA GRUBBS, 57-year-old, white female of 8 Monroe Street Tishomingo, Mississippi was also officially charged with FELONY POSSESSION OF CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE (METHAMPHETAMINE), FELONY POSSESSION OF CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE (METHAMPHETAMINE) W/INTENT TO SELL, and FELONY TAMPERING OF EVIDENCE. GRUBBS’ bond was set at $15,000.00 by Justice Court.
Sheriff Daugherty would like to thank the Belmont Police Department for assisting the sheriff’s office in these arrests.
- On March 2, 2018, Tishomingo Sheriff’s deputies conducted a traffic stop on HWY 172 East in Iuka for Careless Driving. During the course of the traffic stop, deputies determined that the driver was showing signs of being impaired, so the passenger of the vehicle was then checked as well. A search of the vehicle yielded some alleged METHAMPHETAMINE being found in the purse of the passenger. The passenger was then transported to the Tishomingo County Jail.
- LINDA GAIL JOHNSON, 55-year-old, white female, of 26 CR 247 Iuka, Mississippi was officially charged with FELONY POSSESSION OF CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE (METHAMPHETAMINE). JOHNSON’s bond was set at $5,000.00 by Justice Court.
- Also, on March 2, 2018, Tishomingo Sheriff’s deputies conducted another traffic stop on HWY 72 in the Burnsville area for No Tag. During the stop, the driver stated to the deputy that he had no driver’s license, to which he was immediately placed under arrest. A search of the vehicle yielded several different types of prescribed medication being found all in the front and back floor of the vehicle. A passenger was asked about the prescription pills but did not claim ownership. Tishomingo deputies arrested both the driver and passenger and transported them to the Tishomingo County Jail. Once at the jail, both the driver and the passenger handed over to the deputies, some alleged METHAMPHETAMINE that they had hidden on their person.
- CORY SMITH, 31-year-old, white male, 1986 HWY 72 Corinth, Mississippi was officially charged with FELONY POSSESSION OF CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE (METHAMPHETMAINE). SMITH’s bond was set at $5,000.00 by Justice Court.
- JOSHUA MURRAY, 30-year-old, white male of Iuka Motel Room #107 Iuka, Mississippi was officially charged with FELONY POSSESSION OF CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE (METHAMPHETMAINE). MURRAY’s bond was also set at $5,000.00 by Justice Court.
- On March 3, 2018, Tishomingo Sheriff’s deputies conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle around the Fairgrounds area of Iuka. The driver of the vehicle had suspended driver’s license and was immediately arrested. A search of the vehicle yielded some needles that were hid inside the vehicle, and no one claimed responsibility of the needles. Both the driver and the passenger were taken to the Tishomingo County Jail. Once at the jail, the passenger attempted to hid some alleged METHAMPHETAMINE in one of the garbage cans. During a search of her persons, corrections officers found more alleged METHAMPHETAMINE that was hid on the passenger.
- PANDA MCRAE, 54-year-old, white female of 94 CR 168 Iuka, Mississippi was officially charged with FELONY POSSESSION OF CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE (METHAMPHETMAINE), FELONY TAMPERING WITH EVIDENCE, and INTRODUCING OF CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE INTO A CORRECTIONAL FACILITY. MCRAE’s bond was set at $10,000.00 by Justice Court.
- Also, on March 3, 2018, Tishomingo Sheriff’s deputies conducted another traffic stop on HWY 72 for Improper Tag Display. During the course of the traffic stop, the deputies observed a soda bottle that was beside the passenger, with what appeared to be a bag of alleged METHAMPHETAMINE inside the bag. The passenger was escorted out of the vehicle and the alleged METHAMPHETAMINE was retrieved from the bottle. The passenger was then transported to the Tishomingo County Jail.
- MEGAN ASHBURN, 27-year-old, white female of 240 CR 246 Iuka, Mississippi was officially charged with FELONY POSSESSION OF CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE (METHAMPHETMAINE). ASHBURN’s bond was set at $5,000.00 by Justice Court.
- On March 5, 2018, Tishomingo Sheriff’s deputies conducted a traffic stop on HWY 72 for Failure to Dim Headlights. During the traffic stop, the deputies thought that the driver may be under the influence of a narcotic. The driver admitted to the deputies that he had “ate some meth earlier in the day”. The driver was then placed under arrest for possible DUI and a search of the vehicle yielded a clear bag of alleged METHAMPHETAMINE found in the back seat. The driver was then transported to the Tishomingo County Jail.
- JAMES GUY RIGGS, 40-year-old, white male of 1043 Bethlehem Road Russellville, Alabama was officially charged with FELONY POSSESSION OF CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE (METHAMPHETAMINE). RIGGS’ remains in custody awaiting bond to be set by Justice Court and is also currently on probation with the State of Alabama for drug charges as well.
