SOUTH IUKA MAN ARRESTED FOR DRUGS

On July 9, 2017, the Tishomingo Sheriff’s Department conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for careless driving around CR 955 in Iuka. The deputy was able to speak to the driver of the vehicle and explained the reason for the traffic stop. The driver could not produce any driver’s license or proof of insurance for the deputy and was then placed under arrest. During a search of the driver’s vehicle, the deputy found a bag of alleged METHAMPHETAMINE in the dash area of the vehicle, as if it was being hid. The driver was then transported to the Tishomingo County Jail.
OTTIS JEAN FARRIS, 36-year-old white male, of 19 CR 192 Iuka, Mississippi was officially charged with FELONY POSSESSION OF CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE (METHAMPHETAMINE). FARRIS’s bond was set by Justice court in the amount of $5,000.00.
